Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Ingredients:
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is no longer pink, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic to the saucepan and cook until the onion is translucent.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve the meat sauce over the cooked spaghetti, and garnish with fresh parsley or grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
